How this gets judged.

Generated’s one claim is independence. This page is where we make it checkable — what wins, how the judging works, who is barred from judging, and where the money is and isn’t. If a line below can’t be verified, it doesn’t belong on this page.

01The judging rubric

Work is judged on the film itself — the idea behind it and the craft of the execution — not the tools used to make it. Whether a piece took an hour or a month, the question is the same: is it a strong idea, well made, that works as commercial film?

There is no published points system; each piece is weighed as a whole against those terms.

02Rounds & process

The nominations were reviewed by the independent jury; the winners were chosen from that review and announced live at the ceremony. Jury decisions are final.

On anonymity, plainly: we don’t run a formal blind process, so we don’t claim one. What decides a result is the work against the terms above — not who submitted it or how big their name is.

03Conflict of interest

The awards work on a simple principle: no one judges work they’re connected to. Anyone with a stake in a piece — who worked on it, represents it, or stands to gain from it — stands apart from decisions about it.

It’s a principle about who doesn’t decide, not a committee to name.

04No tool-vendor influence

An independent award is one nobody can buy. No AI-tool vendor pays for placement, a nomination, or a win — the outcomes aren’t for sale, and no sponsorship changes them.

That’s the line that makes the rest of this page mean anything.

05Scale & selectivity

Season 1: around 1,700 works reviewed by an independent jury of 6 creative leaders, with eight winners across the season’s categories. It’s selective by design; most nominations don’t win.

06Press & verification

Generated’s Season 1 has been covered by Mashable and written up in a Forbes contributor column. Each links to the original and is described for what it is — a report or a column — not inflated.
